Women-Focused Health Startup Newmi Care Secures $1.5 Million Seed Funding, Eyes Expansion

Newmi Care, a women-focused health and wellness startup, has successfully raised $1.5 million (Rs 12.6 crore) in seed funding. The round was led by Sprout Venture Partners, with participation from a family office, angel investment platform LetsVenture, Sarcha Advisors, Key Ventures Forum, and other prominent angel investors. This capital injection marks a significant milestone in the startup's journey to revolutionize women's healthcare in India.

Ambitious Plans for Expansion and Innovation

With the fresh funding, Newmi Care has set ambitious goals to expand its reach. The company plans to establish women’s clinics in northern and western India, while also focusing on enhancing its technology. The startup aims to drive product innovation and grow its team to meet the increasing demand for specialized women’s healthcare.

Founded in May 2022, Newmi Care offers a comprehensive platform for women’s healthcare needs, including consultations, diagnostics, procedures, medications, product shopping, and health tracking—all through a single, user-friendly interface. This holistic approach sets the company apart in the growing women’s health market.

Addressing Comprehensive Women’s Health Needs

Newmi Care addresses a wide spectrum of women’s health concerns, including menstrual, sexual, and hormonal health, fertility and maternity care, menopause, and reproductive organ cancers. Additionally, the startup offers women-centric outpatient department (OPD) insurance products through partnerships with leading insurers, further solidifying its commitment to simplifying outpatient care for women across India.

Since its inception, Newmi Care has made significant strides in the women’s healthcare sector, serving more than 60,000 women across over 400 cities in India. Currently, the startup operates 10 clinics in the Delhi NCR region, with plans to expand its footprint as part of its growth strategy.

Sprout Venture Partners Backs Newmi Care’s Growth

Sprout Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2017 by Sahil Gupta and Sunil Jain, has shown strong confidence in Newmi Care’s vision. The firm is currently investing from its second fund and boasts a portfolio of successful companies such as Pixis, Ripplr, Fashor, and Advantage Club.

Sahil Gupta, partner at Sprout Venture Partners, emphasized the potential for growth in the women’s health sector. “We see a clear opportunity in building a trusted brand in the women's health lifecycle space. We have seen this play out in some of the other healthcare categories. This will be a large market in the future with the growing awareness of health lifecycle amongst the next generation of women,” Gupta said.
