Lenskart, the Gurgaon-based eyewear giant, is set to invest ₹1,500 crore in establishing the world's largest eyewear manufacturing facility in Telangana. The plant, to be built at Fab City, will significantly boost the state’s economy, creating approximately 2,100 jobs, according to Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
A Global Manufacturing Hub
The facility will produce a wide range of products, including eyewear, lenses, sunglasses, and accessories, catering to both the Indian market and international destinations such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Founder and CEO Peyush Bansal emphasized the plant’s scale, stating it will be ten times larger than Lenskart’s current facility in Rajasthan.
This investment aligns with Lenskart's strategy of leveraging local manufacturing to enhance efficiency. Currently, the company ensures next-day delivery to eight Indian cities and supports its growing presence in international markets.

Founded in 2010, Lenskart has grown to over 2,500 retail stores across India and plans to add 400 more this year. The Temasek and SoftBank-backed company recently achieved an annual revenue run rate of $1 billion (₹8,400 crore).
