IIT Madras Launches First-Ever Sports Tech Incubator in India

IIT Madras, a premier Indian institute of technology, is making a significant stride in bridging the gap between technology and sports. They are launching India's first-ever sports tech incubator to nurture and support promising startups in the field.


  • Funding and Support: IIT Madras, through its Pravartak Technologies Foundation and Centre of Excellence in Sports Science and Analytics (CESSA), will offer funding of up to Rs 5 crore to selected startups. This includes incubation support, access to high-tech sports infrastructure, and a comprehensive startup ecosystem.

  • Selection Process: Startups can submit their proposals for the first stage of selection. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present their ideas at the "IIT Madras Sports Technology Start-up Conclave" on June 14-15, 2024. Following evaluation, the final funding amount (ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 50 lakh per startup) will be determined.
