Bengaluru, India: Non-banking lender Ambit Finvest has secured Rs 690 crore in fresh funding to fuel its expansion plans in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) loan segment.


Investment Led by Japanese Securities Giant

The funding round is led by Daiwa Securities Group, a prominent Japanese securities firm, which will receive a minority stake in Ambit Finvest for its Rs 415 crore investment. The remaining Rs 275 crore has been raised from existing shareholders, including Ambit Finvest's parent company.


Focused on Empowering MSMEs

Over the past two years, Ambit Finvest has established itself as a key player in the MSME loan space. The company offers secured and unsecured business loans, as well as used vehicle loans, catering to the diverse financial needs of small businesses across India.


Strong Track Record and Growth Potential

Classified as a systemically important Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), Ambit Finvest has already supported over 68,000 MSME owners by providing them with business loans. Since its inception in 2018, the company has disbursed over Rs 6,000 crore in loans and currently manages assets exceeding Rs 3,800 crore. With a presence across 11 states through 165 branches and a team of over 2,000 employees, Ambit Finvest is well-positioned for further growth.


Strategic Partnership with Daiwa Securities

Ashok Wadhwa, Group CEO of Ambit, expressed optimism about the company's future trajectory. "We are at the cusp of a breakout in our business," he stated. He also highlighted the significance of Daiwa Securities as a long-term strategic investor.


Daiwa Securities Sees Growth Potential in India

Seiji Nakata, President and CEO of Daiwa Securities Group, acknowledged the strategic importance of the Indian market. "We see India as a country with high economic growth potential," he said. Nakata further emphasized the potential for expanded business operations in India, building upon the existing collaboration between Daiwa Securities and Ambit Group in areas like institutional equities, equity capital markets, and public fundraising.
