Jagdish Mitra, the former head of Tech Mahindra India, launched Humanize, a groundbreaking SaaS startup harnessing generative AI and low code/no code (LCNC) technologies. This venture marks Mitra’s bold move into the tech world just four months after his departure from the IT services giant.
Humanize: Revolutionizing SaaS with Generative AI
Humanize is designed to accelerate the software development lifecycle by integrating generative AI with LCNC tools. Mitra, now CEO and founder of Humanize, explains, “One of the big problems businesses face is disorganized data that impedes effective AI utilization. At Humanize, our mission is to structure data efficiently, enabling faster deployment of our SaaS solutions.”
The startup aims to reduce the time-to-market for SaaS platforms by 15–25 percent through its proprietary GenAI toolkit. This technology adds a critical AI layer to existing SaaS solutions, streamlining development and deployment processes.
Competitive Landscape and Market Expansion
Humanize enters the market amidst growing interest in AI-driven solutions. Notably, Mitra’s venture follows former Tech Mahindra CEO CP Gurnani’s AI-focused startup AionOS, which recently collaborated with Rahul Bhatia of InterGlobe.
The initial focus of Humanize will be on India and the US, targeting global capability centers (GCCs) within enterprises. Looking ahead, Mitra plans to expand into Southeast Asia, Germany, the Nordic countries, the UK, Australia, and Japan. The platform will emphasize enhancing customer experience, optimizing supply chains, and promoting sustainability.
Innovative Revenue Model and Strategic Partnerships
Humanize will initially adopt a project-oriented, service-based revenue model. Over time, the startup plans to shift towards an outcome-based model, where success is measured by cost reductions and efficiency improvements. Mitra aims to replace traditional manpower-based revenue models with this performance-oriented approach, reflecting his extensive experience in the IT industry.
In a strategic move, Humanize has partnered with NLB Services, a global technology and digital talent solutions provider. NLB Services has also invested in the startup, further solidifying Humanize’s market position.
Future Plans and Hiring Strategy
Humanize, headquartered in the US, currently comprises a team of 14-15 senior executives. The startup plans to expand its workforce significantly, with ambitions to hire 800-1,000 employees and onboard 80-100 customers over the next five years. Mitra is committed to leveraging the National Skill Development Corporation’s youth internship program to recruit skilled talent annually.
Mitra, who serves on the NSDC board, is confident in his startup's financial health, asserting that Humanize has sufficient funds for product development and market entry.
