About

Pankaj Chaddah is a co-founder of Zomato, the food-delivery company now owned by Eternal Limited. He and Deepinder Goyal were consultants at Bain & Company when they launched FoodieBay, a restaurant-listing website, on 10 July 2008. They left Bain in November 2009 to run it full time, and in November 2010 the site was renamed Zomato. Chaddah spent about ten years with the company as it expanded across India and abroad and moved into food delivery, table reservations and payments. He stepped down from an active role on 31 March 2018 while keeping a seat on the board at the time. In late 2019 he started Mindhouse, a mental wellness venture, with former Zomato colleague Pooja Khanna; it began with meditation studios in Gurugram, moved online during the pandemic and was rebranded Shyft in 2022, offering personalised yoga, meditation and nutrition programmes. Chaddah graduated with a BTech from IIT Delhi in 2007.

Outside his own companies, Chaddah invests in and mentors startups, and IIT Delhi lists him among the founding members of Plaksha University in Chandigarh. The institute recognised him with a Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) award for entrepreneurial excellence. When he left Zomato's operations in 2018, reports said he retained a stake of about 3.11% in the company. After moving online, the wellness business reported month-on-month growth of around 30% and close to $1 million in annual recurring revenue by 2021, according to Channel IAM, before taking the Shyft name the following year.
