Ishani Vaidyanathan founded Paylane after watching Indian exporters lose a meaningful share of every invoice to intermediary banks. The question is whether the saving is large enough to change behaviour.
Paylane's Series A closed in September 2024 at ₹41 crore, led by Elevation Capital.
The product is narrow by design: settlement for Indian exporters and SaaS sellers billing overseas.
The open question is switching cost. Businesses tolerate a lot of friction before they change a banking relationship.
