About
Payments infrastructure company providing online payment gateway, payout, lending and neobanking products to Indian businesses. A Y Combinator alumnus from the winter 2015 batch.
Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar, who met at IIT Roorkee, started Razorpay in 2014 after struggling to collect online payments for a crowdfunding project — and then spent months persuading banks to work with an unknown startup. Accepted into Y Combinator's winter 2015 batch, the company grew from a payment gateway into payouts, the RazorpayX neobanking suite and working-capital lending, and acquired Malaysia's Curlec in 2022 to enter Southeast Asia. It completed a move of its domicile from the United States to India in 2024.
Founded 1 Jan 2014
