Rohit Bajaj is the co-founder and chief executive of Balwaan Krishi, a Jaipur-based maker of farm machinery for small and marginal farmers, which he founded in 2016 with his brother Shubham Bajaj. He has an economics honours degree from St. Xavier's College and an MBA in finance and marketing from TAPMI School of Business in Jaipur, according to a CEO Insights profile that credits his product decisions to frequent visits to mandis and conversations with farmers. Balwaan sells lightweight equipment such as power weeders and battery sprayers priced between ₹10,000 and ₹1 lakh through a hybrid B2B and B2C model, with more than 800 dealers across northern India and online channels, and says over four lakh farmers use its machines. The company raised a $2 million pre-Series A round led by Caspian Leap for Agriculture Fund in May 2023 and a ₹40 crore Series A from JM Financial Private Equity in June 2024. In September 2026 it raised ₹100 crore in a Series B led by First Bridge India Growth Fund, to expand domestic manufacturing, build its dealer and service network in southern India, and develop IoT-enabled equipment with predictive maintenance.
