About
Arvind Mediratta is the founder and chief executive of Elixiir Foods, which runs FreshTerra, a food retail brand built around fresh produce, meat and seafood, dairy, organic staples and gourmet products. He started the company with Ambuj Narayan, a former CEO of Titan's Taneira, who is co-founder and COO. Elixiir raised $9 million in seed funding in February 2026 in a round led by 3one4 Capital with Incubate Fund Asia, and in July 2026 opened its first FreshTerra store in Gurugram together with a delivery app. The store has rooms where flour is milled, spices ground and mustard oil cold-pressed in front of shoppers, plus an in-store cafe; the company plans 12 to 15 company-operated stores across Delhi NCR by FY28. Before this, Mediratta was managing director and CEO of Metro Cash & Carry India from February 2016 to July 2023, a period in which the business moved into profit after 14 straight years of losses, and then became MD and CEO of Hippo Homes, a Dalmia Bharat Group company. He was born in 1967.
Mediratta began at Procter & Gamble in 1991, spending about a decade on marketing and brand strategy across India, Bangkok and Singapore. He was chief marketing officer at Marico (2001) and Whirlpool India (2003), and in 2005 became CMO for South Asia at Yum! Brands, covering KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and A&W. He joined Walmart India in 2007, set up its Best Price cash-and-carry business and rose to chief operating officer, then moved to Walmart in the US as vice-president of operations for Texas and later vice-president of merchandising for Fresh until 2016. He chaired FICCI's committee on retail and internal trade from 2020 to 2022 and co-chaired CII's food processing committee in 2019.
