About
Amit Gupta is a co-founder of InMobi and the co-founder and chief executive of Yulu, a Bengaluru-based shared electric two-wheeler service. He earned a BTech in mechanical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2000 and completed an executive MBA programme at Harvard Business School in 2010. In 2007 he co-founded mKhoj, the SMS search venture that became the mobile advertising company InMobi, with Naveen Tewari, Mohit Saxena and Abhay Singhal. At InMobi he helped build the global revenue engine and the expansion into more than 15 countries, and he led the early work on Glance, the lock-screen content platform that later became a unicorn with backing from Google and Jio Platforms. He went on to found Yulu in 2017 with RK Misra and Naveen Dachuri to tackle urban congestion and pollution through cheap, low-speed electric vehicles. Yulu began operations in Bengaluru and Pune in January 2018, counts Bajaj Auto and Magna International among its investors, and raised $93 million in a Series C round in August 2026. IIT Kanpur gave him its Distinguished Alumni Award in 2013, and he has made angel investments in more than 40 startups in India and the US.
